Together, We Can Keep Hertfordshire Warm This Winter

As temperatures drop, thousands of people across Hertfordshire face the harsh reality of winter without the essentials to stay warm, fed and safe. Rising living costs mean more families, older adults and vulnerable individuals are struggling to make ends meet. For many, the choice is stark: heat or eat.

At Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF), we believe no one should have to endure these conditions. That’s why we’ve launched our annual Winter Appeal, to help bring warmth, comfort and hope to those who need it most.

Your support can make a real difference. By donating today, you’ll help fund:

  • Emergency food parcels to ensure no one goes hungry
  • Fuel assistance grants to keep homes warm
  • Warm clothing and blankets for children, families, and older residents
  • Community warm spaces, providing safe and welcoming places to connect, stay warm and access essential services.

The need has never been greater
More than 50,000 households in Hertfordshire are living in or close to fuel poverty and 31.5% of households are categorised as financially stretched.

Every donation counts

  • £20 could provide a warm meal and essential groceries for a family
  • £50 could help an older person heat their home during the coldest months
  • £100 could support a community hub offering warmth, safety and connection

How you can help

  1. Donate today: Every pound makes a difference
  2. Fundraise: Host an event or challenge to support the appeal
  3. Spread the word: Share this page with friends, family and colleagues.

Together, we can make a difference
Your support will help ensure that no one in our community has to face winter in fear of the cold. With your help, we can provide critical support to those affected by the rising costs of living and the reduction in government support.

Thank you for helping us bring warmth and hope to Hertfordshire this winter.
