My Story

A High Sheriff is appointed by His Majesty The King for one year. The Office of High Sheriff is over 1,000 years old and the key role is to support those involved in the administration of justice and in the voluntary sector.

Annie Brewster JP is serving as High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 2024/25. During her year in office Annie's theme is ‘Sport for Good’.

She is passionate about the power of sport and physical activity as a cost-effective and successful vehicle for social change in areas such as health and mental wellbeing, social inclusion, community cohesion, crime and disorder reduction, educational attainments and the development of skills leading to employment and economic prosperity.  She is very much looking forward to getting those who live and work in the county ‘moving’ in this Olympic year.

Annie will raise money via her ‘High Sheriff Fund’ run by Hertfordshire Community Foundation, to help break down obstacles to opportunities for people of all ages to engage in physical activity.

Your donation will make a huge difference to our communities and in making Hertfordshire a better place to live for everyone. Thank you.
